Friday. Saturday. Sunday.

After Adam got back from work on Friday, we had a dinner for two at home and went to Twisted Root to get milkshakes. It has such a fun atmosphere! When you place an order, instead of yelling your name to let you know your food's ready, they hand you a name card with a famous person or fictional character's name on it and yell that instead. We got Jenny Curran from Forrest Gump for our milkshakes. Before leaving, Adam put in a quick order for french fries, and we heard the employee shout to the cooks in the back, "El Guapo wants his fries to-go." It's a fun place. After that, we and our french fries headed to the dollar theater to see The Avengers (in 3-D, mind you), which neither of us had seen. It was a great, relaxed, and much needed date night.

Saturday night, we went to the Texas State Fair! One day too late to catch Big Tex (may his memory live on), it was still super fun to double date with my parents, sit in fancy cars at the car show, see Big Tex's "grave," walk around the Cotton Bowl, cheer on the pig races, look at giNORmous John Deere tractors, and stuff ourselves with things like fried oreos, lemonade (how does one go about frying lemonade, by the way?), popcorn, frozen cheesecake, corn dogs, fried snickers, more lemonade, and brisket tacos. The brisket tacos and cheesecake were the top choices for the evening.

Let's just say I think we need to invest in a scale to remind me not to eat so much grease next year. But seriously, how often do you even want to have access to fried everything? You gotta live it up once a year.

Yesterday after church, we made homemade pizza for lunch, took an awesome nap, talked with family, had a friend over for dinner, played games with our friends across the parking lot, and fell asleep talking about our ideas for Halloween costumes and our long-term goals.

Fun weekend. Great company. Not long enough.
